Next,
we present some recommendations, which will make
your visit at Machupicchu more enjoyable and pleasant:
| |
We
recommend that you travel light; you are only
coming for 1 or 2 nights so bring what is essential,
leave the main luggage at the hotel in which you
are staying in Cusco. Remember there are no taxis
in this town, everything lies within walking distance
and we have a few stairs to cover to get to the
lodge.
| |
During
the day it is relatively hot, but the temperature
can drop and at night it can be quite cold so consider
bringing clothing fitting for both situations.
| |
Bathing
suit and personal towel for the hot springs.
| |
Rain
jacket or poncho in the rainy months between December
and April.
| |
Sunglasses,
Sun block, Insect repellent, Hat, Camera, Binoculars.
| |
Please
avoid bringing plastic bottles into the sanctuary,
they represent a problem after use, we offer carbon
filtered water, so please bring your own container
to refill. Contribute with the preservation of our
sanctuary.
| |
It
is also recommendable to sort out your train tickets
both ways, before coming. The transnational, monopolist
company of perurail offers a poor service and can
spoil your visit if you don’t have a return
ticket. For more information visit www.perurail.com.
| |
We
recommend that you buy the entrance ticket to visit
Machupicchu in advanced, which can be done in the
offices of the INC in Machupicchu town or Cusco,
the prices are US $ 40.00 for adults.
| |
If
you choose the option of taking the bus to the sanctuary
we recommend that you buy the bus tickets a day
in advance. You can do that the day before in Machupicchu
town .The prices for one way are; US$ 9.00 for adult
and 4.5 US$ children the first bus leaves at 5.30
a.m and takes 25 minutes, last one down is a t 5.30
p.m.
| |
We
also recommend that you leave early and witness
sunrise at the ruins of Machupicchu as it is a breathtaking
experience and you will be assured less tourists.
The most crowded time of the day is between 9.30
a.m and 1.00 p.m, when all the trains have arrived.
A late afternoon visit can also be suggested.
| |
As
it is a lifetime experience it is a good option
to do a little research and read some information
about the history and people that lived in this
magic sanctuary, it will make your stay much more
enjoyable.
| |
Finally
a very important recommendation; you are about
to visit a sanctuary of peace and light, leave
all bad energies and thoughts behind before you
step into the sacred grounds of machupicchu and
absorb the mysticism and good vibes of the place.
