"A heaven after the Inca Trail"
Rupa Wasi is the ideal place to stay after completing the gruelling 4 day 45 kilometre Inca Trek. The accommodation is well appointed, bed very comfortable, staff friendly and helpfull and the restaurant sensational. It is not cheap but then Peru is not as cheap as you might think anyway. It is great value and I would highly recommend it. Free wifi is a great way to catch up with people after being in the Andes for 4 nights.

"Friendly lovely yummy"
We stayed here for one night and took the first bus to machu picchu. We booked room nr. 2 and got an upgrade for room nr. 4. This room was lovely with hot showers. breakfast was yummy and the staff very friendly. We can NOT complain. but Aguas calientes really is not a place to be longer than necessary, but an overnight-stay is good for getting up very early to see machu picchu not crowded. in this lodge you stay away from the other (really not nice) hostels and stressy restaurants.

"Grea Spot...Great Food"
For some context, it's important to understand that Aguas Calientes is purely a tourist town. This was, after all, the only place in Peru where a business owner (at a restaurant) tried to rip us off. Rupa Wasi is a sanctuary from that kind of mentality both in atmosphere and in the attitude of its staff. While centrally located, Rupa Wasi is physically removed by a few steps uphill from the hustle and bustle of the town and therefore feels more serene and peaceful. While our room wasn't one of the rooms with a beautiful view, it was clean and had all of the amenities we wanted (hot water!). The staff is helpful, friendly and not remotely interested in taking advantage of tourists. We were very pleased with our experience here (we only stayed 1 night). The highlight is the restaurant, which prepares fantastic lunch boxes for its guests to take with them to Machu Picchu for a very reasonable price. We also had dinner at the restaurant, which was far superior to any of the other food we had in town. All in all, I would highly recommend Rupa Wasi.

"Hidden Gem"
After 4 days of hiking the Inca Trail and sleeping on the ground, this little lodge was luxury. It is quite the trek up a few steep hills to find it (but totally worth the walk). Comfortable beds, beautiful decor, clean, quiet, great restaurant and an amazing value - I will recommend it to all my friends and family going there in the future. I would also recommend that you spend the night in Aguas Calientes after the trek - it is nice to relax, (drink), and stumble to bed without having to rush for a train that night. Felt much less rushed and had time to enjoy ourselves - Thank you Rupa Wasi for a great stay :)
